crawling stairs...

So my little Cain has decided that he is no longer a little baby. He has decided he's going to be a "big kid" like his older siblings. I was in the kitchen doing something and went to check on Cain. Him being mobile I constantly worry about him falling down the stairs ( we have not been able to find a baby gate that goes wide enough to fit across the stairs opening). When I walked around the corner I found this (pic). He just stood there and smiled at me. For anyone that know Cain, he is a bouncy baby and loves to bounce weather being held, in the jumper or apparently climbing up the stairs, because he was bouncing too. He's adorable and I can't believe that he's getting so big so fast. Its bitter sweet...I wish he could just stay my little baby for a little longer, but that doesn't seem to be in his plans.

Graduation day....

So today was the day. Cierra graduated Kindergarten. Her teacher Mrs. Spiker put together a really nice ceremony and gave each child a keepsake book that is AMAZING!!! Each book has over 100 pages in it and has pictures from each party and each field trip. It's also loaded with school work that was done throughout the year. It's so neat to see how much she has progressed since the beginning of the year. Cierra has learned so much this last year. I give full credit to Mrs. Spiker and I wonder how far she would be if she would of had a diffrent teacher. As you can tell Cierra and myself love Mrs. Spiker and wished she could follow Cierra through her school years. Cierra is looking forward to first grade, but I have to say I am so excited for the summer. We have lots planned and my goal is to continue to work on all the things that she learned this year so when she does start school again her brain is ready.

End of the year party

Cierra's Kindergarten year is coming to a quick end. Today was her "End of the year party". I have to say that Jill Dalton out did herself. She is responsible for the planning and putting together of this party. She decided she was going to make it not only fun, but also educational. She did an Idaho cowboy theme. She had 4 stations with the one being panning for gold where each child got to pan for gold and then take there very own "Gold" (fools gold) home with them along with some edible fools gold bubblegum. They also got to make a necklace with beads and a real arrow head. Third she had a "shoot em' up" game. They each got to shoot rubber bands at targets and then got an Idaho potato (the candy bar). Fourth they got to ride with a miniature pony named Sam. Jill's mother and father are from Gooding and they were kind enough to bring Sam to Pocatello for the class to get rides with. After all that fun they got to have a hot dog, chips, cupcake, candy and either lemonade or root beer for a snack. It was so much fun. I have so many pictures and I really had a hard time choosing which to post, but in the end I have chose a picture of Cierra and her two friends Oakley and Molly making their necklaces with their cute little hat and bandannas on. Tomorrow is graduation so there will be more to come.

What a mess of a mom....

On mothers day my sweet husband let me attempt to sleep in. I say attempt because my two oldest children were so excited for me to open my presents that they were constantly coming into my room. They would wake me up by saying "Happy Mothers Day mom". Very cute I know, but yes a little annoying when I am trying to sleep. Finally, I got up and went right upstairs. I hadn't even brushed my hair and there sits my entire family on the couch waiting for me. Cierra had her backpack in hand with my presents inside of it. They wanted me to open the one that they got to help their dad pick out. I first read the card from Cierra and CeJae ( I must say very cute!) I then opened the card from Chad and that's when it all started...the water works. The card was very beautiful. They always are from him. Anyways, I then got myself together and opened the present. It was a pink straight iron for my hair. Pink thanks to Cierra and her awareness to the support of breast cancer. I then opened the present that Cierra made for me at school. It was the cutest little homemade "coffee mug" filled with Hershey kisses and Hershey hugs. It had a little saying with it that just put me over the edge. I still can't believe how much of a mess I was. It's those sweet little things that mean so much to me. I would of been happy with just the sweet cards and amazing mug. There are times when I get so overwhelmed with being a mom, but I have to say the best thing in my life is my 3 sweet children and my amazing husband.

Yummmy!!!!!

The other day when we went to the bank they asked the normal question "how many suckers would you like?" I said 2 even though Cierra was at school and it was just CeJae and Cain with us. When we got home and things were settled down we laid Cain on the floor and gave him his very own sucker. Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how much he LOVED it. He was so funny, he just laid there with both hands on the stick putting it in and out of his mouth. When he pulled it of his mouth he would just sit and stare at it. It was almost like he had to look at what was so yummmy. I think it's safe to say Cain likes his sugar!

Sick baby boy....

Little Mr. Cain has been sick lately. I thought as of yesterday (after I gave him some Ibuprofen) that he was improving. He slept through the night (for the most part) and woke up in a very happy mood. He played on the floor by himself and acted like he was just fine. Well this afternoon after we got home from picking Cierra up from school and going to the grocery store, I took him out of his car seat and laid him on the floor. He played with his bottle for a little bit and that's when I noticed that his hands and especially his little fingertips were white. When I looked at him a little closer I noticed that not only was his hands blue, but so was his feet and from his cheeks down to his chin. I thought "okay, he might be cold". I decided to give him a bath in hopes that he would warm up and get his color back. While he was in the bath tub Chad and I realized that his whole body was very blotchy, and his lips were getting even more blue. I immediately got him out of the tub and put him in warm PJ's, wrapped him up in a warm blanket and called the doctor. well, of course they wanted to see him a.s.a.p. and we were on our way.
When we first got there the Dr. took his temp and checked to see what his o2 stats were. He had a temperature of 102 degrees and his oxygen level was 92. The Dr. said that 92 is good, but something that we should watch. He checked his ears and listened to his lungs...they looked good, and sounded good. Unfortunately, the Dr. had no explanation for why he is so sick, but did say that there is a possibility that it could be a reaction form the shots he received Monday. Before we left the office the nurse gave him 3/4 of a teaspoon of Tylenol and Ibuprofen in hopes that his temp would lower and his extremities would regain their color. After our trip to the office and we got home he was much improved. He was so tired that he was ready for bed at 7:30. Well, here it is 10:52 and I am writing this blog with my right hand and holding Mr. Cain with my left. I am not sure if he just doesn't feel good or he just wants to be held. I just hope that he feels better real fast.

I hear all these scary stories about babies and SIDS. With each one of my children I have had that fear in the back of my mind from the day I bring them home up until they are about a year. I am one of those moms that in the morning when I realize that my baby has slept through the night, my heart starts pounding and I have to run and check on them. I always check on them before I go to bed as well. The other night I went and checked on Cierra and CeJae and of course they were just fine. I then went into Cain's room and found him asleep like this (above picture) I could hear him breathing which made me feel a little better, but really this scares me. I didn't end up moving him or anything for fear that he would wake up and want to stay awake, but I laid in bed forever that night listening to him breath over the baby monitor. Silly boy or silly mom...I don't know which.

Alone time with sister....

I was able to snap this photo from the landing of our stairs. Cierra is being a little camera shy, but Cain is more than willing (like always).
Until we are able to get our other couch back from my Brother the kids have been using our Family room as their room to watch their movies. Tonight Cierra asked to watch Tinker bell. Chad went down and turned it on for her. While they were down there getting the movie started Cain decided that he wanted to watch it too. Cierra set up his little chair for him and Chad took him down. I was so surprised, Cain stayed with just Cierra for almost an hour. I think it's great that even though he's only 6 months old he already enjoys "alone" time with his big sister.
